My wonderful husband is my longest and best client. đ If you can believe it, he does actually listen...usually. đ
He graciously agreed to do a joint cut phase with me, not because he particularly needed or wanted to (he LOVES to eat now though in the past he chronically underate). But, he had put on about 10# since his last cut phase and he thought, why not clean things up a bit?!
Besides, it is easier and more supportive and encouraging to have a partner going through it with you. And he is just...the best! đ Thanks, Honey!
So how is it going?
Tim is beginning his 4th week with me. This photo was taken during week 3, mid way through the cut. He weighed 178# when he began 3 weeks ago. He weighs in at 172-173 already!
His body also doesn't hold as much water as mine does. Sodium rarely spikes his weight, and if it does, it doesn't last long. My body is quite different.
He is looking leaner for sure!
His goals are just to lean out a little, and he doesn't feel the need to fight for a 10# loss. He would be happy to reach 170# or thereabouts.
He is also VERY busy, as busy as me!! He wakes to workout at 430 am, teaches all day and coaches varsity golf all evening M-F, often getting home after dinner.
Here are comparisons, the top photos are at the end of his 5 month build, and the bottom photos are 3 full weeks into a cut, 5# down by the scale.
Workouts and Energy
Tim works out about 4 days per week on average for 1-1.5 hrs. So, less than me! He creates super sets or trios to get more work in, and less rest. He does basic strength training most days and 1 x week Olympic lifts.
His programming is based around the big 3 compound lifts and key strength accessories. He doesn't have enough time to play with many variations, but that's OK! He is getting strong and building muscle anyway.
